BK’s Sushi Kaiwaka is a standout gem nestled along State Highway 1 in the charming town of Kaiwaka, New Zealand. Specializing in authentic Japanese cuisine, this restaurant offers an inviting culinary experience that effortlessly blends freshness, quality, and variety. Whether you’re craving classic sushi or a warm, comforting bowl of noodles, BK’s Sushi delivers with a menu designed to satisfy both traditional palates and adventurous food lovers.

The heart of the menu lies in its exquisite range of Bento boxes, each thoughtfully crafted to showcase vibrant flavors and textures. From the tender and savory Chicken Teriyaki Bento to the crispy, golden goodness of the Pork Katsu Bento, every dish promises a harmonious balance of taste and nourishment. Seafood enthusiasts will delight in the Salmon Sashimi Bento and the indulgent Unagi (Eel) Bento, where freshness is paramount and each bite resonates with oceanic purity.

For fans of noodles, BK’s Sushi Kaiwaka excels with hearty, flavor-packed options such as the Beef Ramen and the spicy, invigorating Chili Ramen. Each bowl is an aromatic delight, rich with umami and perfectly cooked noodles that soak up the nuanced broth. The Tempura Udon and Udon & Chicken Katsu provide a delectable contrast of crunchy tempura and chewy udon, making for a comforting meal that feels both indulgent and wholesome.

Complementing the mains, the side dishes are carefully curated to elevate your dining experience without overwhelming the palate. The crisp, refreshing Seaweed Salad, the subtly fermented Kimchi, and the warm, soothing Miso Soup perfectly round out meals, while a cup of authentic Green Tea cleanses the palate and enhances the overall dining ritual.

Delicious sushi made fresh. Lucky to have such a good spot locally.

Delicious fresh sushi and friendly service. Often drive through Kaiwaka and always make this my food stop. Have a good range of fried and healthy options from the cabinet as well as a good menu. Highly recommend!

Love stopping here when heading North. Lovely range of sushi options, and freshly made as you need to be in quick as it is very popular and dissappears fast. Not much left come after lunch rush. Highly recommend.

This place is very friendly and the food is great. It's my regular restaurant when I travel up north.

Great sushi and hot food. Always friendly and welcoming and its great with sustainable options with plates and bulk soy sauce not the plastic trays and a bunch of plastic packets. You can even bring your own takeaway containers or they have cardboard trays as well. Best sushi on SH1.
